Cold in Honduras

For all you people that are cold with temps below 0 or even below 30, this will seem silly to you.  Here in Honduras, we have not had any sun for about 4 days.  It has rained and been cold to us.  The temperature in San Pedro has been in the mid to low 60's.  It was even cooler than that up in the mountains.  We are blessed to have a dry house and a way to stay warm.  Many people have been suffering and are suffering with wet houses and no way to get any heat.  We have had soup which is comforting and warm to cook.
It's cold outside.

This has been a week of firsts for Family Missions.

Tuesday, Valerie taught at the prison in El Progresso.  We had 6 prisoners there. There are only 9 women in the prison.  3 of them were sick.  We were blessed to give them a snack of bologna salad sandwiches, a donut, plantain chips, and a glass of coke.  They seemed to enjoy it.  Looking at the pictures you will wonder is we were in a prison.  We were actually outside the lockup area in an area filled with trees.  What a beautiful place to feel the presence of God!

Wednesday morning, we had 18 children from the street and a mother come in to our church area.  They received a cookie and some juice when they came, then they received a short lesson on Salvation from Valerie and Mario.  They also were able to see part of a movie which they will finish next week. They then received a snack of bologna sandwich, plantain chips, a piece of cake, and a drink.  The Word of God says that His Word will not return void unto Him.  It will produce fruit in these children.

blessings

This morning,we received an unusual blessing.  One of our donors called us and told us to come right away for ripe plantains.  That in itself was a blessing.  We had no idea how many we were getting.  We got over 50 packages.  What a blessing for our feeding centers and the pastors that we serve.  We also got about 40 pounds of strawberries.  We were again able to bless pastors with an unusual treat and put some back in the freezer for later.  We also were given potatastes which are staple vegetable around here.  It is used in soup and will enhance the meals prepared this weekend.  God is so good.
