Christmas with the children and prisoners

Oh boy, a doll
Wow, I get a gift!
A few pictures to show the children and some of the prisoners who were blessed by the many people who helped us with money, hygiene supplies, apples, and cookies.  We can not do all that we do at Christmas time without your help.

visiting the prison
God is so good.  We have had a wonderful month since the 29th of October.  My sister came down for the first time.  She has been talking about coming and did to surprise me for my birthday. We had a great week enjoying spending some time with each other.  She also got to see some of the things we do and places we go.

For the last week, we have been blessed to have Pastor Jim Raymond and his wife Stacy from Altoona, Kansas with us.  They have been able to share with the prison, ladies' meetings, and two churches.  They were a tremendous blessing to us.  They brought hygiene products for us to share with the women in the two prisons where Valerie ministers.

Miracles

Jhon and Mario are in the states.  We had no one to drive the pickup to pick up the children for our Saturday class.  I can drive the pickup but being short it is not advisable with 24 children in the back.  We let the children know they had to walk.  I had a lack of faith as I really didn't expect very many if any children to walk the distance.  We opened the door at 9:30 and two girls showed up.  They told that more were coming.  I looked out the door and saw the line of children coming.  17 children walked from the bordo to the house for their class.  It showed me that God is working even when we walk in unbelief but we were still prepared for them.  We were faithful to be prepared for them and He brought them in.
We're coming!!
Watching puppets

We were also able to minister to an old man who stopped in to rest in his feet.  He stayed for the puppets, the Bible story, and part of the Bible movie.

Thank you Grove Christian Center and Day of the Child

First we want to thank Rhonda Knox for the gift of a trumpet for a young man in the prison.  He was excited over the gift.  This is Angel, the recipient of the trumpet.  He is back in church and using his gift for God.  He is a blessing to us
as he also speaks English well.

Day of the Children is over with and we have been involved over 500 Children.  We were able to provide Pinatas for 6 different groups.  We also worked with a street ministry who had over 100 children come.  We had to limit the amount of children as it had been raining and the room where we were meeting had so much water on the floor that as they swept the floor, water ran down the stairs.  We had 50 children in that class.  We helped another group with crowd control and the giving out of gifts and cookies.  Two of the churches we had where Valerie and Mario gave the lesson had a total of around 180 children.  God is so good as we were able to have something even if it was a pinata and soda for them.

meeting needs

June – July  2013
Jhon and I enjoyed some time in the states together which doesn’t usually happen.  We were able to spend a month together.  We visited churches, met new friends, and visited family Jhon attended his 55th High School
class party over the 4th of July in Columbus, Ohio.   We really enjoyed our time traveling with our youngest granddaughter.  She was able to travel over 5,000 miles with us while we visited.  It was an experience for her.

REACHING OUT AND TOUCHING AS MANY AS POSSIBLE EACH DAY IN THE NAME OF THE LORD

When Jhon returned, he discovered that Bryan, one of the disabled children that we help, had fallen from the bed and broken his left femur.  The doctors at the public health hospital,   casted it and then told the mother he would have to have a pin put in.  We prayed that it would not require the pin.  On Aug. 16th, a Christian Doctor here in Honduras checked it and took an x-ray.  The bone was knitted together and it would not require a pin.  Thank you Lord.

WE HAVE SEVERAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS THAT NEED FINANCING AND CONSTRUCTION TEAMS.
                                                     PLEASE PRAY FOR THESE PROJECTS.

We are helping a church on the Bordo, this is a very crowded area beside a river banks.  This church is in a large area of very poor people.  They had been meeting out in the open but a tin roof has been built to keep the rain out when they have classes for the children on Saturday and also church on Sunday and weekdays.  We have bought compact material to level the ground to prepare for a cement floor.  One side wall of block needs to be completed first and a storage area and bathroom built. They need a place to secure their chairs and tables.   An adjoining property to have a play area for the children is also being purchased.

Pastor Rodolfo Castillo needs a building for the Children’s Sunday school classes.
He is building bathrooms now!  HALLELUJAH!!!!!!

Pastor Ernesto Munoz is needing a sewing clinic room to put sewing machines
and a place for the women and men to keep sewing supplies safely stored.

We would like to thank the staff at Lakehaven Dental in Grove, OK, for their gift of toothbrushes
They will be a blessing to the children and prison inmates.

September is coming up and we will be celebrating Day of the Child and then we will begin to prepare for Christmas.  It isn’t that long between September and December.

FAMILY MISSIONS’ PRISONS FOR CHRIST OUTREACH IS HEADING OUT AGAIN

We will soon be launching a new series of visits to more prisons in Honduras.  It will include a lot of traveling but is worth it to preach the Word and just to show these men and women they are remembered.  We will try to carry whatever supplies including Bibles that will be encouraging to the inmates and guards that we try to bless also.
Note: SPS PRISON RECEIVED A BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN FLAG FROM GCC AND HAS LEARNED THE PLEDGE TO IT.
**************
Thanks to all of our supporters and prayer partners.  Without your help we could not do what we are doing.  God takes your gifts and multiplies them as we minister Christ's love, a living Gospel, to the people of Honduras.
