Jhon was in the states for 3 weeks until March
15th. He was able to visit
some churches and friends (Tom and Dot Noyes in AR and others) that we don’t
always get to visit. We praise the Lord that our friend, Rob Tollison, was able
to go with him and help drive. Jhon then
returned to Honduras with two Kansas friends from Verdigris Valley Christian
Fellowship, Tim Raymond and Joseph
Dodson. What a blessing they were to us during their stay.
Following Jhon's return to Honduras,
a group of 11 on-fire young people and five adult leaders came. The group ministered in two prisons, 3
feeding centers, and gave food to a total of 90 families. They did skits and
dramas with clowning and teaching the message of Salvation. They worked one day with a ministry to street
people, helping to serve the food and do the skits. At the second prison we served a meal to the
prisoners along with the skits and drama ministering to them. Sis. Rhonda Knox ministered to the women
prisoners and gave out small gifts of
toiletries. It was a great time of
watching people receiving the Word and becoming new creatures in Christ.
I couldn't get the pictures from the fire to insert or copy onto this. It was a blessing that there was not anymore damage than there was.
Shortly after the group left, there was a fire in the prison in San Pedro Sula. It was contained but there was damage to the pastor's office and half of the church roof had to be replaced. Thirteen prisoners also died. Because of the problems with wire, we are needing to replace the wood beams in the maquila (our sewing factory) and put on a new roof as soon as possible. it will cost about $4,000. A small area has become available that will almost double the maquila area. We are planning to start teaching baking classes. Like the first area, it will cost $4,000 to purchase and do the needed remodeling. We have the stove and equipment and the monthly supplies to get the bread others goods into production.
If the Lord speaks to you to help in anyway, we thank
you now.
Our
love to all of you. Thank you for your
help to Family Missions and Fundacion Misiones de la Familia.
Jhon and Valerie Allard
